AngryError message Epson Stylus CX3200

I have been given a Epson Stylus 3200 which has an error message when it starts 'Printer error---- see your documentation and call service if necessary'. Troubleshooting just says see a dealer and it is not worth getting it repaired. Has anyone got any ideas of how to fix it before I throw it out?

As I say I was given it so I don't know any of its history.

Thanks

Cliff
