Default2000 messages in Virgin Web Mail inbox

Have not used the particular web mail address for several years.

When opened found 2000 mainly junk emails - many of them quite recent as well as the aged ones.

The delete "select all" option only seems to work for ten items a page.

I was prepared to do them at ten a time only to find the contents of the trash box had to be deleted ten a time as well.

Anyone know a shortcut - perhaps I should ring Virgin Tech to delete all!

Or you could set outlook express to delete all mail on the server without downloading it.

Hahaha....the mailboxes which are left redundant are supposed to be cleared and in some cases closed to save server space but yet again something/someone isn't following the rules

@Virgin_Tech. Strange so many recent spam emails bypassed the Virgin spam filters - not happened on any of the other four Virgin email addresses!!!!

Telnetting in would be a quick alternative:
telnet mail.virgin.net 110
Username
Password
Dele 1-2000
quit

I have another cunning plan. Delete the whole mailbox and set up a new one with with one having the same name.

Guess this might be quicker than studying how to set up telnet - but thanks all the same Zero

Done. Took a bit longer than I expected as had to ring Virgin Tech Support because the procedures to do so on the website would not complete the operation successfully.

Update ... neither could the subsequent creation of the replacement email address be completed - I'll try another day!!

lol.... There is no setup. From the Start>Run box or a command window simply type the above.

If you set up the account in your email client as an imap account
and synched, you could then delete everything in one fell swoop
but with 2000 emails
it would probably take a while to synch

Forgot to mention - it was faster to delete the email address (and of course the junk with it) and then set it up a new account using the same email address.
